On Saturday, April 25th, the Early College Mentoring Program took part in Jesuit Day of Service. It is a community outreach day sponsored by John Carroll in conjunction with ten other Northeast Ohio institutions. The event offered the opportunity for relationship building within the Cleveland community and allowed Early College students to experience the service element of being a John Carroll student. Our group worked at the senior garden at Fatima Community Center, weeding and putting down topsoil in several flowerbeds to get them ready for planting as well as spreading mulch in other areas of the center.
Last Monday, sophomore Early College students presented their Gateway projects at John Carroll University’s annual Celebration of Scholarship. The students did a tremendous job interacting with faculty and were well-received by the community, presenting themselves in an articulate and professional manner. We are so proud of their hard work and excited about what they accomplished.
Next Monday, April 13th, the R.E.A.L. Early College Sophomores will be presenting their original research projects at Celebration of Scholarship in Dolan Science Center from 5:30-6:30 pm. Please come support our students’ hard work.
